1 Scope and booking-specific rules
This Cancellation Policy applies to bookings through New Wave Harbor LLC services that link to it. Read it with our Terms and Conditions and the cancellation terms shown for your specific booking. The identified marina or Operator supplies the rental. Mandatory legal rights remain unaffected.
We do not apply a single cancellation percentage or cutoff to every boat. Review the policy displayed before you book, including the deadline, local time zone, refundable charges and any applicable fees. A booking-specific rule cannot silently remove a protection expressly promised in our Terms.
2 Renter cancellations and changes
The cancellation policy shown before booking governs a renter’s voluntary cancellation, changes, late arrival, and no-show. It must specify the cutoff time and time zone, refundable amounts, treatment of company and Operator fees, and any credit expiration. No undisclosed nonrefundable fee may be imposed after booking. Use the cancellation method shown in the booking record or contact support and retain confirmation of the request.
Request a change or cancellation through the method shown in your booking record, or contact support if you cannot access it. Include the booking reference and retain the confirmation. Asking to reschedule does not itself confirm a new date; the Operator must agree and any price change must be disclosed before you accept.
3 Operator cancellations
If the Operator cancels or cannot provide a confirmed trip, the renter may choose an offered replacement or reschedule, or receive a refund of amounts paid for the unprovided trip, including associated mandatory booking fees. A credit or substitute trip will not be imposed in place of that refund without the renter’s agreement. Amounts legitimately earned for a separately delivered service must be identified and explained.
4 Weather and unsafe conditions
The Operator and, where applicable, the captain must assess actual operating conditions and applicable restrictions. If the trip is canceled before departure because it cannot safely or lawfully proceed, including a required closure or evacuation, the renter may elect a refund or an available reschedule. For a trip interrupted after departure, the disclosed interruption policy applies, subject to mandatory law and a fair assessment of the service delivered. A forecast alone does not automatically cancel a trip that can safely proceed.
Safety decisions must reflect the actual vessel, route, restrictions and conditions. Do not depart in unsafe conditions to avoid a cancellation charge. See our Safety Policy.
5 Late arrivals no-shows and safety refusals
If a renter is refused departure for intoxication, lack of disclosed qualifications, overcapacity, or another breach of a disclosed safety condition, the applicable cancellation policy governs subject to law. No one is required to operate unsafely to avoid a charge. Exceptional events do not remove refund obligations for services that were not supplied.
6 Refund processing and disputes
Approved refunds are returned through the original payment method where possible; bank processing may delay availability. Contact support if a refund is missing or incorrect. Good-faith billing disputes and statutory card-dispute rights are preserved. Neither an Operator nor New Wave Harbor LLC may obtain duplicate recovery for the same charge.
A refund request, an approved refund and a refund received by your bank are different stages. We do not promise a fixed bank-processing period. If the amount appears incorrect, provide the booking reference and the charge or refund details to support without sending full card credentials.
7 Security deposits
A security-deposit authorization is separate from a completed charge and from a refund of the rental price. A hold may temporarily reduce available funds without being a completed payment. Its expiration or release depends on the payment provider, card network and bank. A cancellation does not authorize an unsupported damage claim.
Deposit deductions and other post-trip charges must follow the notice, evidence and review requirements in Section 8 of our Terms and Conditions. Contact support if a hold remains visible after the provider confirms release.
